Pam Holland at our School of Threadology

Posted: 14 May 2010 at 8:05 a.m.
We have been friends with Pam Holland for many years.
Bob and I were very happy when Pam accepted our invitation to teach at our School of Threadology here in St. George, Utah.
We enjoyed a wonderful few days of learning, laughing and instruction.

Pam joined us as our 2nd National Teacher for the School of Threadology.
This session included 27 students (myself included) who came from all over the United States.
With my travel schedule, I often don't have the time to take classes from my favorite teachers. Now with our School of Threadology I can bring the teacher to me!
Pam is a wonderful instructor.
For this 2 day session, we learned how to make a fabric Collage.

The theme included grasshoppers, crickets, butterfly's and fish.

Pam's individual attention really helps!

One morning was spent learning her techniques for making ink sketches combined with pen dyes and stitching.

Once the collage was assembled, we learned free motion stitching that completes the project.
Pam's favorite thread to use for stitching, which she highly recommends, is our MasterPiece. (Nature's finest thread. #50/2 extra-long staple Egyptian-grown cotton for piecing, detail quilting, bobbin, lace, and applique. Very smooth with virtually no lint.)

We are happy to announce that Pam will be returning to our school in the Spring 2011. Make sure to follow our web site and newsletter for updates and schedules for our School of Threadology.

Heather and Bob: Thanks for the opportunity to attend Pam's class. We all had a great time. Pam is a wonderful teacher -- very encouraging and inspirational. The classroom setup at the School of Threadology is the best I have ever seen. We had plenty of room at each work station, plus two more huge rooms with tables for cutting and laying out our projects. And, with design walls all around the room, each of us could stand back and really see how our project was progressing. It was wonderful to not have to tote my sewing machine, cutting mats, and so forth to class as well. Thank you Bernina and Heather for supplying those for us. When's the next class? I'll be there! Annie
