Thread Suggestions For Home Machines

Posted: 7 May 2010 at 6:05 a.m.
We love hearing from you, our customers, especially when you share with us your positive experiences with Superior Threads.
Barbara wrote, "I recently purchased a new sewing machine and it was mentioned that I should only use specific brand thread with this machine. I wrote to machine company's headquarters and they referred me to your website which, by the way, is quite wonderful. Do you have thread suggestions for my machine?"
Here is our reply:
Your machine should like any high quality thread. To be told that a
machine should use only a specific brand of thread is like saying that a new car must run only on Chevron brand gasoline. It sounds like the dealer was trying to sell the brand of thread he carries.
I'm glad the manufacturer referred us.
Superior Threads is the only thread company that guarantees every spool of thread we sell. We are a little more expensive than other brands due to the efforts we make to guarantee high quality.
You and your machine will notice the difference.
I am attaching our Thread Selection Guide
which will guide you to the best thread for each application (for example, embroidery or quilting or piecing). I'm also attaching our Thread Reference Guide which tells you what needle and tension setting is best for each thread. Following these guides will make your sewing experience much more successful.
Thank you for trying our thread. We also send free e-mail newsletters which are educational. Here is a link where you can view recent Newsletters:

I think is was more to the point of saying use a good quality thread. It's better for your machine and causes less issues. I too recommend thread when I sell a machine. Although, it is for good quality thread and name several that are available at local shops. Superior among those.

Can you imagine? Using only ONE brand of thread when you sew? What a ridiculous idea. That dealer needs to be slapped down by a gang of experienced sewers.
