Texture Magic Tuesday/ Using an Embroidery Machine

Posted: 22 June 2010 at 5:38 a.m.
Using the largest hoop of your home embroidery machine can make fast work of the stippling process and produce sections of fabric that are just right for small Texture Magic projects.
Our thanks today goes to Maddie Kertay of Chattanooga, Tennessee for sharing with us her original designs for a curling iron cover and purse.
"The purse was made by combining jelly roll strips and stipple in the hoop for a playful gypsy effect in a glam little evening bag. The curling iron cover uses not only jelly roll strips and the embroidery machine but it also adds the use of Insul-Brite fabric to make a stylish and heat proof cover that is just perfect for travel!"
"I was wanting to do something with the embroidery machine and the TM but this meant that the finished pieces of fabric were not all that larger after the 7x11 frame size then 30% shrinkage of the TM. So this left met thinking about small interesting projects and thus the purse and the iron cover."
Maddie first encountered Texture Magic while attending the American Embroidery Convention last Spring and also at a local quilt shop.
When asked to tell us a little bit about herself, Maddie said, "I am a designer with a focus on embroidery and quilting. I teach locally (Chattanooga TN) and have a blog and virtual storefront here http://www.freshstitches.blogspot.com/. I am the mother of 6 and a all around crafty being :) "

Hi Auntie Pami, We have had several people write us with experiences using a longarm and Texture Magic, and it works wonderful, too. We would love to see your ABC quilt when it is finished.

You know if an embroidery machine could do that, then imagine what you can do with a longarm and a yard of TM! I want to do an ABC quilt.
