Valley of Fire

In planning your trips to visit us in St. George, Utah, make sure to allow extra time to see some of the beautiful surrounding sites.

Valley of Fire State Park is located 55 miles NE of Las Vegas, and around 75 miles south of St. George.
Many of our visitors like to fly into Las Vegas and visit Valley of Fire on their drive to The School of Threadology.

Valley of Fire is Nevada's oldest State Park, established in 1935. Brilliant sandstone rock formations cover over 34,000 acres.

The climate is beautiful during the winter, fall and spring months. Summer can be quite hot with temperatures reaching up to 115 degrees.
Valley of Fire is a wonderful place for camping, hiking, picnicking, and photography.

Atlatl Rock
3,000 year old petroglyphs dot the park, remnants left from the Anasazi Pueblo Indians who inhabited this area long ago.

When Pam Holland came as our guest recently to teach at The School of Threadology, we knew as a photographer and designer she would love Valley of Fire.
Make sure to see Pam's Utah Inspired quilt on her blog post 6/2/2010
