Another Contest!

Posted: 4 August 2012 at 4:28 p.m.
Last month we offered a $50 Gift Certificate by randomly selecting a winner from those who posted a comment on our blog about the Block Designer function on the fabric webpage.  Congratulations to Carole D.

Here is another chance to win a $50 Gift Certificate.

Test Mother Superior's Color Match technology on the fabric website and leave a comment on this blog.
(To leave a comment, scroll down below and you will see a box where you can enter text and click submit.)

a.  Select any fabric on Mother Superior's Fab Fabrics website and click to enlarge the image.  A multi-color fabric will illustrate this function better than a single-color fabric.
b.  Underneath the enlarged image, you will see a row of boxes, each containing a solid color of one of the dominant colors contained in that fabric.  Some fabrics may show only one or two boxes and some may show three or four color boxes.
c.  Click on any of the color boxes and the computer will show every other fabric in our inventory that shares that color shade.  For example, if you need another olive green fabric to match a fabric, click on the olive green color box and within seconds you’ll see many other fabrics that have the same color shade.
d.  Enter the contest by leaving a comment on our Superior Blog.

All who enter have an equal chance to win.  Winner will be randomly selected. One entry per person.
Contest ends Monday, August 13, 2012  at 6:00 p.m. Mountain Time.

Winner will be announced in our Blog on August 15, 2012.  Please check to see if you've won!

I do read your news letter faithfully however live in Canada & am unsure what the costs would be to have items shipped so don't know how cost effective I would find it. Loved playing with all the fabric and color combos though.
  • 271. Joyce Ferrie (14 August 2012 at 8:16 p.m.)

Oh BOY - What fun!!!!! You have made this so easy, YET give the creative spirit so many opportunities to find their own blend!!!
  • 270. Ilene Pedlar (13 August 2012 at 3:41 p.m.)

Excellent software. I will definitely use this service in the future, thanks.
  • 269. Donna F (13 August 2012 at 3:31 p.m.)

I played with this before and absolutely love it. It's so awesome to be able to match up in the blink of an eye!
  • 268. Eileen Hoheisel (13 August 2012 at 7:20 a.m.)

    That works great!
  • 267. Janice Evans (12 August 2012 at 2:20 p.m.)

Wow! This makes thing so easy. Color combo's is where I have most trouble.
  • 266. Sandra (12 August 2012 at 1:27 a.m.)

I like the idea of the fabric color tool. However, I had some trouble after choosing all kinds of combinations and getting back to the original fabric choice. If I choose my focus fabric first and go from there on to 8 to 12 more colors and combinations, I cannot see on the screen, my first focus fabric. It would be nice to have a box or column that says previously viewed choices or my first choice, second choice and so on to see them together and up close. I am throughly impressed and would use this tool when choosing fabrics to buy for a project.
  • 265. Crystal Flemmer (11 August 2012 at 9:13 p.m.)

Love this but wishing that I could choose particular fabrics from the matches that come up and see them side by side with the focus fabric. Great tool, though.
  • 264. Rae Clay (11 August 2012 at 5:25 p.m.)

    Useful technology at work! Thanks!
  • 263. Patty Anderson (11 August 2012 at 11:52 a.m.)

I liked be able to match and look at all of the different colors you can use with materials that have different colors in them.
  • 262. Ann Sadler (11 August 2012 at 11:08 a.m.)

What a wonderful tool. It can give great help with project planning. Thanks.
  • 261. Linda Illes (10 August 2012 at 5:56 p.m.)

Useful tool, sure makes it easy to match things up!
  • 260. M (10 August 2012 at 2:49 p.m.)

I think this is a great feature, it makes picking fabrics easier!
  • 259. Jackie Roberts (10 August 2012 at 2:25 p.m.)

I just found this website (recommended on Craftsy) and I bought the thread holder - thread and fabric with matching thread. I am astounded how well I can machine quilt (in just one week) with the better thread and the thread holder. Just got back from vacation with the grandchildren and can hardly wait to get unpacked and start quilting. The quality of the material is just excellent. While on vacation I had time to look at the "Thread Clubs" and the "Superior University" sites and after school starts - I'm going to pick some to sign up for. This is a wonderful site and if you are frustrated with some of your skills - there is a lot of information on this site to help you.
  • 258. fuqua366 (10 August 2012 at 7:59 a.m.)

Color Match is awesome! What a wonderful & creative idea.
  • 257. Linda Webster (09 August 2012 at 1 p.m.)

I love the color match function. What a great idea!
  • 256. Brenda Sutherland (09 August 2012 at 11:20 a.m.)

The color match technology is great! As easy as it is for me to spend hours looking at fabrics, this makes it so easy to find matching fabrics. Plus they will be the perfect color something that is hard to do sometimes from just a swatch on my computer screen. Thanks so much!
  • 255. Niki Vick (09 August 2012 at 11:10 a.m.)

What a great idea! Should make it really easy to find coordinating fabrics
  • 254. cari (09 August 2012 at 7:58 a.m.)

A great way to purchase matching fabrics my local store(s)did not have in stock.
  • 253. MarciaW (08 August 2012 at 3:30 p.m.)

This worked so well with fabric and thread matching accomplished at once. I selected apple-of-my-eye-blue-4 and lots of matches to other collections and manufacturers displayed, such as: verona-gray-5 and woodland-tails-blue-3.
  • 252. Betty Stallings (08 August 2012 at 12:49 p.m.)

Oh my goodness, what a terrific idea. I have so much trouble deciding on color-coordinated fabrics. This is just awesome.
  • 251. Lisa England (08 August 2012 at 10:15 a.m.)

I love the color match function! I picked a brightly colored fabric (Timeless Treasures Kidz Black - A) and matched the orange. The fabrics it showed were fabulous! This could be dangerous to my budget!
  • 250. Amy Fisher (08 August 2012 at 9:58 a.m.)

I am on vacation and using my iPad. It seems to work great, but not all fabrics have a color box underneath. I thought it might be because there are no other matches, but one fabric had a box and it was the only fabric returned in the search. I look forward to using it for my next project!
  • 249. Judy Dings, Saginaw, MI (08 August 2012 at 9:09 a.m.)

I played with your block designer and am very impressed. I like how easy it is to use. It makes placing light and dark fabric tones, as well as fabrics in your blocks much easier. Now I can select my block style, colors, fabric before I make a purchase and save me a ton of money and more importantly, "TIME."
  • 248. Kristin Driscoll (08 August 2012 at 8:07 a.m.)

What a useful creative tool. This is as helpful as the many books full of techniques and shortcuts.
  • 247. M Williams (08 August 2012 at 7:44 a.m.)

It doesn't work for me. What am I doing wrong? I went to fabrics, choose novelty, panels and Makower Space-G. When I clicked on the photo, it enlarged, but nothing else was on the screen except 'click to hide'. I tried the Guys section, RJR Fabrics Sew Geared Up Black Multi A. When I clicked on the photo it didn't even enlarge - it just appeared on top of the current photo. Again no color match.
  • 246. Lori (08 August 2012 at 7:35 a.m.)

    Very handy!
  • 245. Pam S in Wisconsin (07 August 2012 at 9:22 p.m.)

What a great tool - especially the ability to customize with the additional buttons.
  • 244. Linda Boerner (07 August 2012 at 6:26 p.m.)

LOVE that capability! Makes picking out coordinating fabrics easier when order online. Sometimes monitors are different and the colors look one shade and turn out different when arrive. You've given us a great ordering tool!
  • 243. Stephanie.O (07 August 2012 at 6:08 p.m.)

Handy tool,shuttermom77 at gmail dot com
  • 242. Jane Freedman (07 August 2012 at 5:55 p.m.)

This is the first time I have tried the Color Match feature--it is awesome!! Sure takes a lot of guesswork out of picking thread colors--thanks sew much for this feature!!
  • 241. Janet Kirby (07 August 2012 at 5:53 p.m.)

I love the color match and it is easy to use. Thanks for thinking of new ways to make our sewing enjoyable.
  • 240. Joan Bens (07 August 2012 at 4:32 p.m.)

This really solves the difficult problem of online shopping for matching thread. Good for you.
  • 239. Linda (07 August 2012 at 3:18 p.m.)

I really like your fabric/thread matching feature. But - I love Moda; won't they let you use their fabrics? I would love to order directly instead of running all over trying to check out thread which is often out of stock.
  • 238. Mary Church (07 August 2012 at 2:45 p.m.)

I think this is just fabulous. What a time saver for someone who has limited shopping time.
  • 237. Lorrie Brown (07 August 2012 at 11:56 a.m.)

ABsolutely love your Omni Thread for machine quilting! Great colors and strength! Never breaks on my quilts! Love,Love, Love it!
  • 236. S Wilson (07 August 2012 at 10:20 a.m.)

Great way to quickly find cooperative fabric options. Then I only have to look for a 'zinger' Thanks
  • 235. Donna Sommers (07 August 2012 at 8:32 a.m.)

Very interesting- Now when I purchase fabric, I can see immediately which threads go with it.
  • 234. Grace Cerak (07 August 2012 at 8:31 a.m.)

What a terrific way to coordinate fabrics. I love it.
  • 233. Jeri Amundson (07 August 2012 at 7:34 a.m.)

This is one of the best options I've seen. It's almost impossible to pick out hues that match by pictures on the web.
  • 232. Marcia K (07 August 2012 at 5:37 a.m.)

For me this would be perfect. I can always use some guidance in selecting the perfect color of thread to match my fabric to help it blend in and match with the fabric perfectly. This is GREAT!
  • 231. Diane Schultheiss (07 August 2012 at 5:25 a.m.)

Love the idea, but had trouble using the tool. In looking at dark orange none of the fabrics displayed the color boxes. I think look at fabrics by manufacture and selected a peacock print. It only showed grey as color. I would have expected the teals, green and gold to show up.
  • 230. Beth Myers (06 August 2012 at 10:24 p.m.)

I love the concept but not enough color options were provided for the fabric shown. My preference in matching the colors in a fabric appear to be different from the person selecting which colors match.. will watch this for future upgrades. Love the thread matching option will definitely use.
  • 229. Gloria Bruce (06 August 2012 at 9:11 p.m.)

I tried all differents ways to get the software to work but all my choice just cycled aaway in the url bar. I will try another day.
  • 228. Jeanne (06 August 2012 at 7:19 p.m.)

A great tool for color matching.
  • 227. Terri M (06 August 2012 at 5:08 p.m.)

Love it! Can't wiat to use it for next project.
  • 226. Vaughn Thompson (06 August 2012 at 4:47 p.m.)

Now that's an easy way to pick out fabric for an entire quilt in no time at all. I have purchased on-line for an entire quilt before and it took hours going back and forth from one page to another. This is really made the job easier.
  • 225. Patricia L Walters (06 August 2012 at 4:01 p.m.)

I cose a fabric under abstract but no list of color match options came up. it would be nice if it had worked.
  • 224. Nancy Hamilton (06 August 2012 at 1:22 p.m.)

Maybe it's something I'm doing wrong, but when I click on the fabrics to enlarge, there are no matching color boxes beneath the enlarged image. I tried many different fabrics and none of them provided the fabric matching tools.
  • 223. Wendy Garrison (06 August 2012 at 1:08 p.m.)

I love your new fabric color matching tool! It's especailly nice to be able to set the tolerance level to get fabrics that still blend but aren't totally "matchy-matchy".
  • 222. Glenda Moore (06 August 2012 at 12:50 p.m.)

Did not work for me but may be the connections today are not great. Love the idea and I can see how it would be of help.
  • 221. Sandy Dagg (06 August 2012 at 12:44 p.m.)

This sounds like a terrific idea looking forward to being able to use the idea once the computer lets me.
  • 220. Marilyn Watson (06 August 2012 at noon)

This will be a handy colour matching tool>
  • 219. Jane Hauprich (06 August 2012 at 11:51 a.m.)

Love it!!! Nice to have some help in picking out colors for your project!!! Thanks!!
  • 218. Faye Coatney (06 August 2012 at 11:45 a.m.)

I really love this feature and will find it very helpful when my sister and i make our quilts.
  • 217. QuilterBridget (06 August 2012 at 11:31 a.m.)

I sent a comment last night, but it's not showing up, so here is my comment again...I just discovered this tool a few days ago and found it to be extremely helpful. Thanks for all of the great ideas!
  • 216. Carolyn Dyer (06 August 2012 at 11:17 a.m.)

Ahhh. This makes my life a little easier.
  • 215. Catherine Parker (06 August 2012 at 11:07 a.m.)

I can't believe how easy it is to find your thread and all the material you need to complete a quilt with the click of a few buttons. This is an wonderful concept. you have taken away the fear of color matching. Thanks
  • 214. Eric Toboika (06 August 2012 at 10:04 a.m.)

Wow this is very exciting! It makes buying fabric and thread online for a project so much easier as you know when you are in a store you have the ability to see everything and judge what may or may not go together for your project. This way you still get that ability :) Great job! Happy sewing everyone....Eric T from NY
  • 213. Meredith F (06 August 2012 at 9:33 a.m.)

What a tremendous tool! Amazing what technology can do when you use it intelligently. Very impressive.
  • 212. Nan (06 August 2012 at 9:22 a.m.)

I love the idea of help with matching fabric to other fabric... and the sample you used is fabulous, but I couldn't get the feature to work. I'll try again later inthe day. The thread matching is neat, too... pulls out choices I wouldn't have thought of, cool!
  • 211. Pat (06 August 2012 at 8:23 a.m.)

I tried and tried again, but not one of the fabrics I selected came up with the small match colors.
  • 210. SusanC (06 August 2012 at 8:05 a.m.)

I did not enjoy the fact that the fabrics only match the base color of fabric. I would like to have seen the floral/print colors available for matching as well. Thus making it a great tool for accent matching. With some enhancements, I would really enjoy this tool.
  • 209. Joyce Kellogg (06 August 2012 at 7:49 a.m.)

This is great feature. I was happy to see this feature oin your site, really helps in matching colors for a quilt. The feature with the thread match is great.
  • 208. Teresa T (06 August 2012 at 7:28 a.m.)

Very nice addition to the site. Thank you for that!
  • 207. Diann Cornell (06 August 2012 at 7:17 a.m.)

It's a good idea, but wasn't so useful in practice. Most of the fabrics I clicked on had no color boxes displayed underneath. One, Fabric Freedom Happy Harlequin Orange Multi had only one color which didn't even appear to be one of those in the print, even though there were several clearly distinguishible color possibilities in the fabric that I would have liked to pursue. There was no clear explanation of how to use the color matcher including the meanings and use of "Tolerance" and "Dominance." At this point I would not use the color matcher, but I certainly would in the future after it is improved.
  • 206. Deborah Woodlock (06 August 2012 at 7:16 a.m.)

That is an awesome tool. You always have excellent suggestions each month and are a great learning resource. Thanks for sharing.
  • 205. pat schafer (06 August 2012 at 6:46 a.m.)

This is way too cool. I'm going to use it on my next project. This would be my first time ordering fabric on-line, but the this system looks like I could trust it colorwise. Great Job
  • 204. Rene (06 August 2012 at 6:24 a.m.)

That was cool. It sure is a time saver.
  • 203. Mary S Wright (06 August 2012 at 6:14 a.m.)

Very useful tool. Will save time hunting for go-together fabrics
  • 202. Dorothy d (06 August 2012 at 5:54 a.m.)

    Great tool
  • 201. Diane Sigren (06 August 2012 at 3:08 a.m.)

Just another reason to love and recommend Superior to everyone. I love searching for fabric this way! Thank you.
  • 200. Rhonda Thomas (05 August 2012 at 11:51 p.m.)

This is a great new tool for finding fabrics that go well together, though I think there may be some "kinks" that will need to be worked out. Overall it works really well, and I look forward to taking advantage of it more in the future. Thanks for always looking for ways to make our experience with Superior Threads truly SUPERIOR!
  • 199. Pamela Reim (05 August 2012 at 9:54 p.m.)

How cool and it helps you find fabric you probably wouldn't have considered for your palette. thanks.
  • 198. Barb Blincow (05 August 2012 at 9:48 p.m.)

That is neat. Love how you recommend thread kind and color too.
  • 197. Michelle Hill (05 August 2012 at 9:26 p.m.)

This is cool. I found a couple of fabrics for a quilt I've been wanting to make. Showing additional fabrics in a certain color way definitely made it easy to find them. Thanks for this neat tool.
  • 196. Bunny (05 August 2012 at 9:21 p.m.)

    Fun way to stimulate creativity.
  • 195. Patricia M. (05 August 2012 at 9:06 p.m.)

Thank you, wonderful idea. So much fun choosing fabric & made easier.
  • 193. Kym Snelson (05 August 2012 at 8:47 p.m.)

Love this tool and already been using it for my quilting project. This saves me from wondering around store figuring out what look good. Thank You.
  • 192. Audrey Carr (05 August 2012 at 8:22 p.m.)

This is interesting and helps me get away from solids and into trusting prints as overall colour. thanks for this help.
  • 191. Kris Jacobson (05 August 2012 at 8:09 p.m.)

OK, I can't get the tools to come up. Not sure if the fabric swatch I selected didn't have any matching fabrics (which I find hard to beleive) or if I am doing something wrong. Read the instructions a couple of times and tried a couple different fabrics. No go
  • 190. Pat H. F.M., FL (05 August 2012 at 8:08 p.m.)

Gee, I really tried to use this program. I selected fabric by the manufacturers name and five different selection came up with nothing. I finally gave up. Sorry.
  • 189. vikki favreau (05 August 2012 at 8:07 p.m.)

this is like picking jewels...there is nothing bad.....8-)
  • 188. Jan Hintzpeter (05 August 2012 at 7:59 p.m.)

Wow! The color mnatcher is "sew" fantastic. I love seeing your other fabrics that blend and compliment the fabric that I selected. The thread suggestions are perfect, also. Thanks for the wonderful tool!
  • 187. Karen Cassanello (05 August 2012 at 7:41 p.m.)

    What a great tool!!
  • 186. Linda (05 August 2012 at 7:36 p.m.)

I like the fact that you also make thread suggestions for both piecing and quilting. Cool!
  • 185. Renee (05 August 2012 at 7:35 p.m.)

Thank you, another way of making our quilting more enjoyable.
  • 184. Pat Brich (05 August 2012 at 7:32 p.m.)

Choosing the right colors to match can really make me tear my hair out, particularly if I need a number of fabrics. This is the first time I had tried the color matcher but it will definitely not be the last-- it is amazing!
  • 183. Beth Owen (05 August 2012 at 7:26 p.m.)

Mother Superior's Color Match tool is very impressive!! I like it!!
  • 182. Patricia mcpheron (05 August 2012 at 7:22 p.m.)

  • 181. Pat K (05 August 2012 at 7:19 p.m.)

    I like the color wheel.
  • 180. Bonnie (05 August 2012 at 7:14 p.m.)

A very helpful way to match colors.
  • 179. Doreen (05 August 2012 at 7 p.m.)

I'm trying to use the design a block but the selected block doesn't show up in the square. What am I doing wrong? The video makes it look so easy.
  • 178. SueS (05 August 2012 at 6:51 p.m.)

I clicked on the pic of the photo to enlarge and... no color bars! I don't know if there is some setting that isn't right or what, but it just won't work for me- sorry- sounds neat!
  • 177. Judi Williams (05 August 2012 at 6:50 p.m.)

Nice to get some quick ideas. I will use it for sure.
  • 176. SL Fettig (05 August 2012 at 6:49 p.m.)

The dominance and tolerance buttons popped some interesting fabrics.
  • 175. Marjorie Post (05 August 2012 at 6:46 p.m.)

Will wonders never cease? How cool, thank uou!
  • 174. Bonnie Haskell (05 August 2012 at 6:46 p.m.)

  • 173. Lea McComas (05 August 2012 at 6:43 p.m.)

Looks like a great tool, but when I tried it and clicked on the color boxes, nothing happened. I tried them all and nothing happened. What am I doing wrong?
  • 172. Nancy Brodeur (05 August 2012 at 6:30 p.m.)

This is a great tool. Love the fact you can select dominance too. Your newsletter is full of helpful info. Thanks

    What a great tool!
  • 170. Bonnye bulla (05 August 2012 at 5:30 p.m.)

I love the color match. It is really nice to have. Thanks for providing this service.
  • 169. Mary Furber (05 August 2012 at 4:43 p.m.)

That works really cool. I like the way you can set the tolerance for the matching. I'm medium!
  • 168. Sandra K (05 August 2012 at 4:23 p.m.)

I like the idea and some good matches did come up but also a lot that no way would go together even if they did contain the same color.
  • 167. Maria Zylinski (05 August 2012 at 4:22 p.m.)

Fantastic tool, especially for us online shoppers - I now don't have to angst over what 'suprises' may come in the mail and can color match with confidence. Also love the split bw quilting and other threads :)
  • 166. Stephanie Martin, Helotes,TX (05 August 2012 at 4:10 p.m.)

Where's the 108 wide backing fabric page?
  • 165. Beth Smith (05 August 2012 at 4:10 p.m.)

I think color matching online is a fabulous idea. It saves so much time as opposed to browsing through fabric after fabric and getting more and more confused. I did try a couple of fabrics where the "minority" colors were not in the color match boxes, but this is new, so some refinement will no doubt take place. Thanks for this and for your wonderful product line.
  • 164. Corinne D (05 August 2012 at 3:59 p.m.)

This is truly a "SUPERIOR" feature. I found fabrics I never would have looked at otherwise.
  • 163. Lori Morton (05 August 2012 at 3:46 p.m.)

How waaaay cool this was.....I spent so much time playin thru the fabrics & colors! Fun! But sooo useful...I am awful about deciding what to put with easy this will make that chore! :) Thanks sooo much for chance to win too! :)
  • 162. Nancy Danish (05 August 2012 at 3:44 p.m.)

I can't wait to use this tool and the price is right for the fabric.
  • 161. Cindy Sharp (05 August 2012 at 3:33 p.m.)

    Fabulous tool
  • 160. Judi Reiss (05 August 2012 at 3:29 p.m.)

What a great and easy way to find both piecing and quilting threads! Love it!!!
  • 159. Patty Langworthy (05 August 2012 at 3:19 p.m.)

That was fun and will be useful My only problem was that I had to look at 6 multi colored fabrics before I found one that had this tool
  • 158. Jane McKay (05 August 2012 at 3:14 p.m.)

That was fun! I will come back to this when I need something.
  • 157. Maureen Ward (05 August 2012 at 3:14 p.m.)

This is great for new quilters like me. I get stuck doing matchy poo and it ends up not having the zing that I see in the quilts by the experts.
  • 156. Jen Sager (05 August 2012 at 3:09 p.m.)

    Very cool!
  • 155. Barb (05 August 2012 at 3:08 p.m.)

This is a very cool tool! It would really help pick colors in fabrics that have lots of colors especially ones you might not think of using.
  • 154. Victoria Butler (05 August 2012 at 2:58 p.m.)

The color matcher is perfect! I love how it works with so many different fabrics, then takes you to other fabrics to work with the original choice. Genius.
  • 153. Denise J. (05 August 2012 at 2:55 p.m.)

The color matcher is a great idea. I work at a quilt shop and the biggest fear most of our customers have is finding fabrics that go together.
  • 152. Linda Kincanon (05 August 2012 at 2:47 p.m.)

Just love the color matcher, that is where I have the most problems with quilting...this tool is WONDERFUL!
  • 151. JoAnn (05 August 2012 at 2:41 p.m.)

I chose a Kaufman blue and green geo print. Most of the fabrics that came up were blue, but I would also like to see some greens. The thread matches were good. I enjoy your newsletter when it pops up every month.
  • 150. Betty Didham (05 August 2012 at 2:33 p.m.)

Love your color matcher. It will make choosing matching fabrics a breeze.
  • 149. Billie Shannon (05 August 2012 at 2:25 p.m.)

I like the idea. The first two fabrics I tried did not have the matching enabled. They were from the Kaufman Under the Australian Sun collection.
  • 148. MargaretK (05 August 2012 at 2:22 p.m.)

I hate to say this, but I clicked on a fabric and I am not getting any color matcher boxes. I only see recommended threads.
  • 147. Joann Rossi (05 August 2012 at 2:17 p.m.)

I tested your color matching, I went from one color to another and then did a match, this is really a neat feature..something that will entice many to see all fabrics and really a blessings..great idea..Joann
  • 146. Joan Park (05 August 2012 at 2:11 p.m.)

That is a very cool tool indeed!
  • 138. Margie Campbell (05 August 2012 at 1:40 p.m.)

Oh, now I just loved this feature!! Every fabric site should have this. Today, I'm trying to pick a blue fabric to go in a butterfly quilt I made...I can't find the colors I used in it (have them, can't find them)...I found one blue that may work. Choosing color is one of the hardest parts of making a top for me.
  • 137. Vimla Govender (05 August 2012 at 1:36 p.m.)

I would like to compliment Superior threads on their colour match blocks. on having a pattern with 7 differnt blues to make, i found it difficult to match my colours appropriately. thanks to the colour match, I was extremely pleased when I received my fabrics and found that they were absoloutely the best match i could have used to get the right colours. thank you again for a very helpful and effective tool that you provide for us to make life easier as we do not see the exact fabric when we buy online.
  • 136. Marcia DeCamp (05 August 2012 at 1:33 p.m.)

    Very cool tool!
  • 135. carol evans (05 August 2012 at 1:30 p.m.)

  • 134. Vi Andres (05 August 2012 at 1:16 p.m.)

Love your color match as I am thread color challenged-great job on improving your site
  • 133. DIANA MILLER (05 August 2012 at 1:15 p.m.)

Silk is King...King is Tut....I used to be confused, Superior has taken the guess work out of fabric and thread choices. Thank you! The Silk is the best for my applique. Love Tut for stability and less fuzz in my machine. Superior is Superior.
  • 132. Sharon Melville (05 August 2012 at 1:08 p.m.)

The colour and thread matcher is wonderful. It was so easy to come up with matching fabrics and threads, I have been using your threads for several years and really like them, the King Tut and the silk are my favourites.

  • 126. Mary Wippold (05 August 2012 at 12:41 p.m.)

A quilter's delight! What a great feature. It makes shopping on line for fabric almost like really being in a brick and mortar store.
  • 125. Wendy Quilts (05 August 2012 at 12:37 p.m.)

Mother Superior's Color Match Technology is like having a personal fabric shopping/coordinator with me all the time. What an ingenious idea. Thanks !

I couldn't get it to work.

  • 117. susanbh12 (05 August 2012 at 11:43 a.m.)

I like the block designer because it allows the buyer to compare values of various fabrics when purchasing for a specific quilt. It is disconcerting to see the ruler break up the striped fabrics (at least on the ones i tried. Good tool. Thanks!
  • 116. Cyndi Anderson (05 August 2012 at 11:42 a.m.)

What a great way to find fabric and what matches it. Great new tool. I also like the thread match also. Good Job!

Oh no! I think I'm addicted! Great tools!

What a wonderful feature! I will probably use it quite a bit.
  • 108. Cheryl Korman (05 August 2012 at 11:23 a.m.)

I love how the thread matcher works and then shows various other fabrics that also match. It gives the opportunity to view many different fabric designs
  • 107. Judy terreberry (05 August 2012 at 11:22 a.m.)

    Great idea, thanks!
  • 106. Lois Bruno (05 August 2012 at 11:21 a.m.)

Mother Superior's Color Match Feature is wonderful. Great asset!
  • 105. Chere (05 August 2012 at 11:20 a.m.)

I love this tool; many of my favorite local quilt shops have closed their doors so I order quite a bit on-line. Getting that match is always a pain; this tool was amazing. I found matches I liked for all the colors in the fabric I selected.
  • 104. JudyS (05 August 2012 at 11:19 a.m.)

What a great idea - especially for someone like me who can't get into a fabric store to actually SEE the colors together. Thank you so much!

  • 99. Judy H (05 August 2012 at 11:12 a.m.)

What a fabulous tool! I didn't know about your color matcher but will sure use it in the future. My biggest challenge is picking colors that will go together and make my quilts 'pop'. Thanks for the opportunity to enter this giveaway.
  • 98. Doris Worthen (05 August 2012 at 10:57 a.m.)

I have been trying to find a way that my new beginners could understand what I mean when I say "coordinating fabrics". I finally broke down and ordered a $56 color palette from Jinny Beyer for this purpose but I think that your site will help them to grasp the idea better. Thank you for providing this tool on your site. Wish more sites would do this.
  • 97. Maryellen (05 August 2012 at 10:55 a.m.)

This is such a great feature! Thanks for creating it. I sometimes have a fabric and can't get something from the group, or prefer other choices. this makes it really easy.
  • 96. s hilsenbeck (05 August 2012 at 10:51 a.m.)

    cool tool
  • 95. Jennie P. (05 August 2012 at 10:50 a.m.)

I love being able to match fabrics by color. It's sometimes hard to find other fabrics that correctly match your main fabric. Thanks for the neat tool!
  • 94. Lezley (05 August 2012 at 10:32 a.m.)

The concept is a great idea! But i didn't find the colours i would use! Kaufman Satsuki Bright - B; where are the bright matching colours? "coordinating" fabrics with race cars? i think the technique needs a little tweaking. Looking for a zinger mini border... the off-white, the orange!
  • 93. Sharon Lau (05 August 2012 at 10:28 a.m.)

Interesting design block feature. Your web site innovations are greatly appreciated!
  • 92. vicki (05 August 2012 at 10:28 a.m.)

The color match did not work on any of the first page of fabrics sorry to say
  • 91. Beth Burke (05 August 2012 at 10:22 a.m.)

What a great tool! I was surprised at the number of matches that came up. Much better than trying to guess and being "off!"
  • 90. Jennie H (05 August 2012 at 10:21 a.m.)

Very neat feature and helpful when planning a project! I think there are areas for improvement unless some of the ones I clicked on thast were multi color just happened to not have anything matching their shades, but in playing around with it I was able to find some that this wored great for :). One could wish this would be standard on every site - but then thast would pull business away from here - sooooo.... not a great iea from your perspective I'm sure as this feature really does help the project development when you can't see the fabrics yourself in person and computer screens don't usually give true colors. Great color matcher overall! :).
  • 89. Nancy Dooley (05 August 2012 at 10:18 a.m.)

I love the color matcher but I did not find anything matching beside masterpiece or King Tut. What about so fine and Omni? Those are what I mainly use for quilting.
  • 88. Molly (05 August 2012 at 10:16 a.m.)

What a great tool for those of us who have trouble with coordinating fabrics. We need all the help we can get. Thanks so much.
  • 87. Jackie Bevilacqua (05 August 2012 at 10:15 a.m.)

  • 86. S. Ray (05 August 2012 at 10:15 a.m.)

    Oh, very neat!
  • 85. Lorilynn King (05 August 2012 at 10:12 a.m.)

Love it! One thing I've never liked about online ordering is that it's just not the same as having the fabric and thread in your hand so you can really SEE the color matches. But this takes the guesswork out of it! Really cool!
  • 84. Tonya R (05 August 2012 at 10:08 a.m.)

How very neat! I love Hoffman Batiks and checked out the Handprints Barbados with this setup and just loved it. I love the fact that I can not only find matching fabrics but also you list threads!!! How awesome and such a time saver too.
  • 83. Peg (05 August 2012 at 10 a.m.)

That was really cool. I loved the look of the Red Rooster Multi fabric and the Fusion that matched it. Now all I need is time to start a new project!

  • 81. Lisa Antell (05 August 2012 at 9:55 a.m.)

Amazing! I love this, what a help any time, but especially when red-eye shopping in the wee hours.
  • 80. Cheryl Walker (05 August 2012 at 9:54 a.m.)

I love the idea, but I didn't have the good of luck with the fabics I tried. RJR's Sew Geared Up it suggests animal prints, that are not even the same color. Then I tried some fireworks patterns, and it suggested Sew Geared Up, and the colors were even different.
  • 79. Bev Moseley (05 August 2012 at 9:50 a.m.)

WOW! Somebody should have thought of this years ago!!! What a great idea Mother Superior!!! Thanks!
  • 78. Janet Leigh (05 August 2012 at 9:50 a.m.)

I was mostly surprised by the number of fabric matches, I was expecting a few and then a whole page popped up! very impressive! and love the thread matches, too!!
  • 77. Marlene Kolz (05 August 2012 at 9:49 a.m.)

Cool! Another great feature of the Superior Threads (and Fabric!) website. Thank you!
  • 76. Ann Schenke (05 August 2012 at 9:43 a.m.)

What a great tool. No more hopping from shop to shop. Just click on a color and like magic wonderful matching fabrics appear.
  • 75. Margaret Lynch (05 August 2012 at 9:41 a.m.)

This tool overcomes my great hesitancy to order fabrics and threads on-line by neutralizing built in biological shortcomings in colors we see. Hope the development and application of this technology brings great returns to your business and to the users.
  • 74. Rose Landon (05 August 2012 at 9:40 a.m.)

What a great tool. No more guessing. Love it thanks
  • 73. Sharon Fleming (05 August 2012 at 9:39 a.m.)

  • 70. Lenore Williams (05 August 2012 at 9:23 a.m.)

  • 69. Donna (05 August 2012 at 9:19 a.m.)

Great tool, its hard to sometimes get a color coordinated on line.
  • 68. Louisa Lawson (05 August 2012 at 9:15 a.m.)

  • 63. Jerry (05 August 2012 at 8:56 a.m.)

Greazt idea. I tried several fabrics and it didn't work.
  • 62. Diana Beaubien (05 August 2012 at 8:52 a.m.)

I love being able to see a variety of reds.
  • 61. Debi R. (05 August 2012 at 8:51 a.m.)

The following link, Mother Superior's Color Match, won't work for me, not in Chrome, not in Firefox, not after re-boothing my system. iSad. :(
  • 60. Jan Holzbauer (05 August 2012 at 8:51 a.m.)

What a cool tool !! I had fun experimenting with it. I do wish however, that it would have all the colors in the fabric. I picked a fabric with about 4 colors and only 2 colors showed up in the matching area. But still fun to play with.
  • 59. Linda Kittmer (05 August 2012 at 8:47 a.m.)

Fabulous tool. I can see lots of great uses for this.
  • 58. Karen Mason (05 August 2012 at 8:44 a.m.)

It's an interesting tool. I spent some time with it and had mixed success. Many fabric did not show any color matches, but on the ones that did show they were great matches.
  • 57. Jeannie Muller (05 August 2012 at 8:38 a.m.)

Awesome concept! No need to hestitate about online purchasing of fabric or threads ever again. Impressive!

  • 53. llev (05 August 2012 at 8:25 a.m.)

    i like the color matcher
  • 52. Barbara (05 August 2012 at 8:21 a.m.)

I have to admit I was amazed, first by the outstanding selections that popped up in terms of other fabrics that would coordinate. How neat is that, especially by a thread company, and what a time saver!! And secondly, (this is second only because you would hope a thread company would do well), the thread suggestions were right on the mark! Thank you for these awesome services.
  • 51. Janice Young (05 August 2012 at 8:12 a.m.)

What a great tool. It is such a help.

  • 43. Juliequilt (05 August 2012 at 7:28 a.m.)

I love this feature. I admit I have been teaching students to use a neutral color to piece their blocks. Now I see the wisdom of using a specific color. This is a great feature. It is also helpful for people who have a hard time deciding what thread to use to quilt their quilts. To show or not to show.
  • 42. els mommers (05 August 2012 at 7:24 a.m.)

What a wonderful tool. For sure I am going to use this color matcher. And what a terrific combination with the thread matcher

  • 34. Heidi Merrill (05 August 2012 at 6:26 a.m.)

  • 33. Heidi Merrill (05 August 2012 at 6:25 a.m.)

Wow What a powerful tool. Having thread match is fabulous but having it linked to all other fabrics that use the same thread color is unbelievable. What an amazingly powerful tool!

  • 27. Barbara W (05 August 2012 at 5:46 a.m.)

  • 22. Carolyn Benes (05 August 2012 at 5:04 a.m.)

Computer screens are not reliable for matching color but I would trust your color matcher for picking a fabric/thread combination.

This is my first time also. Very helpful and time saving tool. Takes all the guess work out. I usually end up buying several colors to see which one matches best.

I love being able to see the fabric and the recommended quilting thread. However, I had difficulty scrolling to the next screen and seein coordinating fabric using the iPad.
  • 13. Denise Sparks (04 August 2012 at 9:05 p.m.)

I've not seen this on other sites, so helpful. You can't always tell what matches and what doesn't. I love it!
  • 12. Abby VB (04 August 2012 at 8:50 p.m.)

It must not be working for me. When I click on a fabric, I get the recommended threads, but I am not seeing the coordinatineg fabrics. Bummer!

  • 1. Linda McCormick (04 August 2012 at 6:11 p.m.)

I knew you had the color matcher but didn't try it until your reminder. Its great and I like the fact that you include fabrics from other lines - the thread matcher is fantastic. I love your threads, blog, newsletter and Superior University. Thanks for all of them.
