5th Deadly Sin:

Incorrect thread delivery method

Rainbows Superior Thread cones and spools

Thread delivery is often overlooked when troubleshooting.  Incorrect thread delivery adds drag and possible twisting to your thread which may create issues.  Spools that are stack wound should wind off the side, not over the top.  Cones should always unwind off the top, not off the side.

We’ve detailed this process in our Thread Holder video.

Ah ha! The mystery of having different spool pins is revealed! This explains why I have more thread breakage with older stack wound spools of thread (well, in addition to the fact that they are older spools of thread!) and when to use the optional vertical pin that came with my machine. Thanks for that information!.
