Is my machine programmed to use certain threads?
Q. I just bought a new Baby Lock Ellisimo machine. The dealer said it is not programed to use Bottom Line thread and I should not do so. Please say it isn't so. I have dozens of cones of Bottom Line and it is my preferred bobbin thread. I am hoping this is just a dealer wanting to sell him own brand of thread (which comes only in black & white.)A. In a very kind way, I'm saying your dealer is either ignorant or misleading. That's like saying your car is only programmed to use only Shell gasoline so don't ever use another brand. Machines are not programmed to use any specific thread. Babylock is owned by Tacony Corporation which also owns Nancy's Notions company which sells our prewound bobbins for Babylock machines. Please tell your dealer.
