King Tut running on an A-1 Machine
Q.
I have been having problems with my king tut breaking and am trying to solve that.My A-1 longarm machine does not like rainbow and other threads I have bought from you even though I have slowed my machine down .Do threads have a life date to them ?I have many that still have the cellophane on them unopened and those I am using I rewrap with saran wrap when storing them.Could they be to old and thats why I'm haveing breakage?I've tested my machine for burrs needles changed the whole gamut.Would appreciate being able to order by email if you could look into it for me.
A. It sounds like both the top tension and bobbin tension are way too tight. A-1 machines should have no trouble running any of the threads you mentioned. These threasds do not go bad. Do you have a Towa tension guage? If oyu have one, the bobbin tension should be set in teh 16-18 range. That is mosty lilkely much looser than your current settings. Keep the top tension loose as well.
