Several lines of Superior's threads can be used for tying flies. Our Silk threads are common for wrapping bodies and our Glitter Hologram (Glitter Tinsel) is wonderful for adding flash. Our spools are not uniform in size in comparison to other Fly Fishing thread brands.
Glitter Hologram (Tinsel)
- Available in 24 Colors. Length of spool - 2.5"

Tire #50 Silk
- Available in 171 colors. Length of spool - 1.5"
- Ideal for wrapping the body.
- Tire #50 is .21mm in diameter (Size C).
Kimono Silk
- Available in 80 colors. Length of spool - 1.5"
- Ideal for wrapping the body.
- Silk naturally has a lustrous sheen.
- Size A (.16mm in diameter).
Bottom Line
- Available in 55 colors. Length of spool - 1.9"
- The Bottom Line is a thin Polyester filament thread which thickness is between Kimono Silk (Size A) and Tire #50 Silk (Size C)
- Can be used on smaller hooks without overpowering the fly with too much thread.
- Holds a whip finish knot well and grips the hook when tying on the wrapping thread.
