Q: Why would I want to use the Superior Thread Holder?
A: The Superior Thread Holder is designed to work with Cones and Spools for your home sewing machine. We have several videos on how to use the Superior Thread Holder here.
Q: What do I use to insert in the large spools with the overly large openings to keep them from wobbling about? I assume there must be some type of cone to place over the thread stand.
A: We stuff a wad of batting inside the cone opening and it works great.
Q: What size bobbin do I use in my machine?
A: About 75% of home machines are compatible with prewound bobbins. L style is the most common bobbin type, followed by Class 15 style. Please refer to our Bobbin Compatibility Guide to see what bobbin style your machine uses.
Q: How long does a titanium-coated needle last?
A: Five to eight times longer than a regular needle or approx. 60 hours. Please see our education articles on our titanium-coated needles
Q: I heard that a titanium-coated needle will damage my machine if it breaks. Is this true?
A: That is a bad myth. Most sewing factories around the world use titanium-coated needles and they would not do so if there were a risk of machine damage. Please see our education articles on our titanium-coated needles
Q: I use the Hugo's tape on my thread but the 2" wide Hugo's tape works best on my large cones of thread.
A: Wonderful idea! 2" wide Hugo’s tape .
The following are comments from our customers on various uses of Hugo's Amazing Tape.
I have been using Hugo's Amazing Tape for years! I put strips of it on the bottom of my acrylic rulers to keep them from slipping. Much better than the sandpaper dots or rubber ones. You can still see clearly though the acrylic ruler and the tape. The tape can be removed and reused.
I use Hugo's Amazing Tape to keep my pantographs rolled neatly so they stay nice and flat and do not get crunched. It keeps the corners from curling outwards and they are just like new when I use them the next time.
I have a suggestion for the longarmers who use pantographs. Rather than put rubber bands or paper clips around your pantos, I use Hugo’s Tape . Now they lie flatter and I can see through it also. I love this tape.
Shortly after purchasing my cutting table, I pushed it to one side in my sewing room and broke the table leg. Not wanting to tell my husband what I had done, I used Hugo's Amazing Tape and actually fixed the table leg. This was several years ago and it is still holding strong---no wobbling. Have also used this tape to hold my supply cases shut when traveling to and from classes.
