King Tut quilting thread is a #40/3 extra-long staple Egyptian-grown cotton. King Tut quilting thread has very low lint and is extra strong. Each spool has 500 yards. King Tut quilting thread is also available on 2,000 yard cones.

For home machines, we recommend using a Superior Topstitch #90/14 needle and setting your tension around a 3.0 or 4.0. 

For longarm machines, we recommend using King Tut quilting thread with a #18 or #19 (MR 4.0 or 4.5) needle. If you use our Towa Bobbin Gauge and our Superior Top Tension Gauge, please refer to our Top and Bobbin Thread Tension Guides.

King Tut quilting thread works great with MasterPiece, So Fine #50, or Bottom Line in the bobbin.
