What is the School of Threadology?

Our Purpose

To educate the world in all areas related to sewing, embroidery, and quilting. Our goal is to be the most comprehensive sewing education center in the world. Classes will be taught year round by the top professionals in the industry.

What We Offer

While the main focus is on quilting, we plan to offer sessions for all sewing-related fields. Learn from the most talented and knowledgeable teachers in the world.  Each three-day session includes hands-on classes, seminars and lectures, and a tour of our office and warehouse.  Below is a partial list of classes we have planned:

Nov 2009-d (Medium)

Home Machines

  • Hands-on classes by Superior Educators and may also include national teachers. 

School of Threadology Nov 09-a (Medium)

  • Certified Superior Threadologist class.  Includes extensive thread education seminars and hands-on classes.  Graduates of this seminar will become a Certified Superior Threadologist and will be well prepared to teach others.
  • Retreats. Our School becomes your studio. Plan your own schedule.

TeachingSeminar (Medium)

Midarm and Longarm Machines

  • Longarm classes taught by the top teachers in the industry.
  • Brand-specific longarm classes taught by professional educators.
  • Longarm Machine Hop. Imagine three full days to try many different brands of midarm and longarm machines with no salesperson around!

Specialized sessions for business Owners and Managers

  • Superior Training for Store Owners/Managers/Employees. Teach your staff to teach your customers.

Where are we Located?

The School of Threadology occupies 7,500 square feet of newly designed and constructed classroom space at the Superior Threads office in St. George, Utah which is located in southern Utah, right on the Arizona border. The St. George Airport (SGU) is serviced by Delta Airlines connecting through Salt Lake City.  Las Vegas is 120 miles to the south. Nearby attractions are Zion National Park (42 miles), Bryce Canyon National Park (125 miles), Grand Canyon North Rim (180 miles). How Long?

Cost

Most sessions in St. George, Utah are $325 per person and include three days of classes, class supplies, printed materials, a lot of thread, 3 lunches and 2 dinners (breakfasts at hotels), and staff help. Participants pay their own way to St. George and pay for their hotel accommodations.

Accommodations

Three hotels are located nearby and we have negotiated reduced rates.

Equipment

Bernina U.S.A. has very generously provided our Home Machine Classroom with Bernina 730 machines. The Longarm and Midarm Machine Classroom will be equipped with most major brands of longarm and midarm machines.
