Metallic thread is unique in both presence and use. If you want to add visible dimension or bring attention to an embroidered design, it's hard to replicate the effect that Metallic thread provides.

One of the most common complaints we hear in the thread world is that metallic threads are junk. Unfortunately, there are several low-quality versions of metallic thread that perpetuate this school of thought. If you use a high-quality metallic thread, such as Superior's Metallics, you will find that with a simple tension adjustment (lower top tension to 1.0) and pairing with a Topstitch or Metallic #90/14 needle, you will be able to create gorgeous designs and stitch without thread breaks when embroidering with metallic thread.
